JJDeli started in Gaithersburg, Md in 1997 by Native Northern Virginians and Herndon residents, Jeff and Jackie Johnson. In 1999 JJDeli was awarded the contract at The Herndon Centennial Golf Course. Jeff and Jackie both attended McLean High School. After High School Jackie attended Bauder College to study Interior Design and Jeff entered the U.S. Army. Jeff and Jackie met in 1996 when Jeff was home on leave from Germany for his brother's wedding. Both being from McLean we found that we have much in common. One being a passion for food and entertaining. Jackie grew up in the restaurant business; her parents owned El Tango in McLean and later Carlos Gardel in Adams Morgan. Jackie and her father ran JJDeli for three months until Jeff returned from overseas to retire after a 20 year military career.

When we started JJDeli we felt that it was important for us to be involved in the community and we knew that JJ Deli would allow us to support some of the outstanding charities in this area. Fisher House is Jeff's favorite charity, Jackie and Jeff support Cornerstones (formerly Reston Interfaith). Plus all of the Herndon Optimist Organizations/Activities, Arts Space, Council for the Arts, Herndon High School Boosters, McLean High School Boosters.

We are proud to be business owners in this great community. We look forward to seeing everyone around town, at Friday Night LIVE and of course at JJDeli.
